About the Junior Section

Dinton CC has a thriving junior section, with over 160 active junior members from ages 5 to 17 in 2009. Last season we ran 11 competitive teams at all ages from under 9 (year 4) to under 17 (year 12), plus a girls' team.

Practice Sessions
We run the following weekly practice sessions at Dinton CC's ground:

Under 11 and younger: Thursday evenings, 5:45pm - 6:50pm
Under 12s - under 15s and girls under 10 & up: Thursday evenings, 7:00pm - 8:15pm (depending on available light)
Under 16s & 17s: Tuesday evenings, 6:30pm - 7:30pm

Coaches and Team Managers
The club has ECB qualified coaches at ECB Level 1, ECB Level 2, UKCC1 (ECB Coaching Assistant) and UKCC2 (ECB Coach). Although more new coaches are going through ECB training in 2009/2010 we still need to increase the size of the coaching and administrative 'pool' by recruiting parents and other volunteers if we are to continue to grow the junior section and provide match opportunities for more juniors. In particular we seek to ensure that each age group has one team manager and a dedicated qualified coach. See the separate Volunteer! page for why you should be helping out!

Child Welfare
The club takes this aspect of running a junior section very seriously, as witnessed by our status as a Clubmark club. Full details are on the separate Child welfare page.
