Volunteer!

The club cannot achieve all it aims to do this year and beyond, increasing the opportunities for young people to play cricket, without the support of parents and other volunteers. The junior section needs the support and participation of as many parents and volunteers as possible.

Can you assist in any of the following ways?
  - Help with practice sessions
  - Travel to away matches
  - Helping during matches
  - Team administration and management
  - Umpiring & scoring
  - Providing vocal support!

We would be delighted to hear from anybody who wishes to help.

Does anyone fancy organising a rota to run the tuck shop and the bar on Thursday evenings? Let us know if you do!

Team Management
We will be running 11 competitive teams in 2009, but not without an administrative manager for each team to work alongside the coaches. These roles are ideal opportunities for people who perhaps don't fancy helping with the coaching, but would still like to contribute. All that's needed is enthusiasm and some organisational skills.

Let us know if you are interested and we will forward the job description.

Coaches
We are looking for a number of parents (dads and mums) who might be interested in doing coaching courses for 2009, which would be funded by the club. The Dinton CC coaches will tell you everything you need to know – including how much fun the courses are!

The ECB website explains the ECB coaching framework.

The UKCC1 (Coaching Assistant) is an ideal entry point for those candidates with limited cricketing experience. This is a 22 hour course, but that includes three hours of first aid and three hours Good Practice and Child Protection training.

The UKCC2 (ECB Coach) is a more demanding course. Candidates must already be familiar with some of the techniques, tactics and rules of the game. This course runs for 36 hours, including three hours of first aid and three hours of Good Practice and Child Protection training. On top of this every candidate has to complete at least 10 hours of supported practice working alongside an ECB qualified coach. Each candidate must complete a record of this activity and this must be accomplished before a final assessment and debrief.

Outside of these formal ECB courses, we hope that short, informal 'How to assist a coach' courses will be run by Bucks CC. Details on this as soon as we have them.
