Child Welfare

Dinton CC are at the forefront of the ECB's promotion of high child welfare standards.

Safe Hands coverThe ECB Child Welfare Policy document, ‘Safe Hands’, was published in 2003 and last updated in 2007. It was written in consultation with the NSPCC and is there to protect young people and all the people working with young people in local cricket clubs. Dinton CC have formally adopted its guidelines.

We are delighted to have Julie Lewers as the club's Child Welfare Officer. Julie (Mick’s wife) is a qualified children’s nurse and children’s counsellor, and is the first point of contact for anyone with child welfare concerns at the club. Julie can be contacted on 01296 489689 or at welfare@dintoncc.co.uk.

Julie and all of the Dinton CC coaches have CRB certificates and have attended recognised courses on Good Practice and Child Protection.

The club have put in a great deal of effort to achieve Sport England Clubmark status, awarded to us in 2005, which proves to parents and carers that the club provides a safe, effective and child-friendly environment for young people. The latest codes of conduct, policies, procedures and forms can be viewed and downloaded from the Clubmark page on this site.

Please feel free to ask Julie if you have any questions about this important subject.

Clubmark - Dinton CC is a safe, effective and child-friendly club
