Last Junior Training for the Season on Thursday   31/08/10
Last junior training, Thursday September 2It's the last junior training for 2010 this coming Thursday September 2.

With any luck it will be dry this week, so it's a good chance to get together and have some fun playing cricket before we pack up for the season. Karen has kindly offered to run the barbecue for one more time, the bar will be open and there may be some end-of-season bargains to be had at the tuck shop!

We hope to see you there.

Extraordinary Victory for 1st XI!   29/08/10
The firsts pulled off a stunning victory away to Farnham Royal on Saturday in the Home Counties league.

Dinton struggled to 167-9 from 60 overs, Ash and Kingy equal top-scorers with 41 a piece. Then with Farnham Royal at 140-4 things were looking predictably bleak. 2 in 2 from Alister Gibbins and at 140-6 suddenly there's a glimmer of a chance. Mouldy from the other end and it's 141-7, then 141-8 following a run-out and 143-9 as Mouldy bowls their number 4. The last two in, and it gets more tense... But at 155 the number 11 is ct Gibbins b Mould, and it's 25 points in the bag. Blimey.

Congratulations to the Under 13s   29/08/10

Junior Training OFF This Evening   26/08/10
It might as well rain until September...Update 2:15pm.

According to the lunchtime weather forecasts there is a very strong chance of yet more rain to come, starting early evening. In view of this, and the fact that the ground is already sodden, we have decided to call OFF junior training for this evening.

The last training session for 2010 will be next Thursday, September 2. Let's hope for some dry weather.

Thursday August 19: Update   19/08/10
Rain, rain, go away...5:00pm: It's dry so training is still ON at the moment, at least for the first session. However, the forecast is still rubbish. If it takes a turn for the worst before 5:45pm we'll send out an update.

If the weather maps are to be believed, the weather is only going to get worse. Prospects are not looking good for the second session. The best place for updates is Twitter.

Thursday: Junior Training OFF   12/08/10
5:25pm. We're at the ground, and on top of the already wet conditions it is raining heavily.

Junior training is therefore OFF this evening.

Junior Training Through the Summer   05/08/10
A quick reminder that junior training continues on Thursday evenings throughout the summer, at the usual times. No barbecue though, as our numbers are obviously lower than usual.

The final training session will be on Thursday September 2.

Junior Training, Thursday July 29   27/07/10
Academy Week is in full swing, with the sleepover happening this Thursday night July 29. As a result there will be no junior training on Thursday.

We start up again on Thursday August 5, and will continue to run weekly practices every Thursday at the usual times up to and including Thursday September 2.

Junior Awards Presentation Tonight!   22/07/10
This evening sees the annual junior awards presentation, pulled forward from September in order to make use of the marquee. The first practice session will take place between 5:45pm and 6:30pm (weather permitting), and then the awards will start from 7:00pm. There will be no second practice session this evening.
Come along and join in the celebrations, take advantage of the bar and barbecue, and congratulate our award winners in each age group.
Following the presentations there will be karaoke!
The forecast is not great and so the first practice session may yet not take place, but the presentations will definitely go ahead regardless. See you there!
