This evening sees the annual junior awards presentation, pulled forward from September in order to make use of the marquee. The first practice session will take place between 5:45pm and 6:30pm (weather permitting), and then the awards will start from 7:00pm. There will be no second practice session this evening.Come along and join in the celebrations, take advantage of the bar and barbecue, and congratulate our award winners in each age group. Following the presentations there will be karaoke! The forecast is not great and so the first practice session may yet not take place, but the presentations will definitely go ahead regardless. See you there!
The thunderstorm that has just hit Aylesbury missed Dinton, but obviously there is still a chance that the early session this evening (5:45pm - 6:30pm) will get rained off. Please come prepared!The presentations start at 7pm.
Update 5:00pm: The weather maps still show heavy rain for later this evening, but it's now difficult to predict when... Junior training will be ON.If the rain comes early and we have to cancel the 7pm session, we will issue the update on Twitter.
This year's Academy Week is fast approaching!Taking place from Monday July 26 to Friday July 30, Academy Week is an intense week of cricket coaching for under 7s to under 14s that aims to improve every aspect of your game. Come along and see the club take on the likes of Derek Randall, John Lever and Clive Radley! Tickets can be bought at the gate or ordered via oldengland@dintoncc.co.uk. Adults £10, Children/Senior Citizens £5, Family ticket (2 Adults / 2 Children) £25.
Westcott under 17s have conceded so the home under 17 match is OFF. As a result, we have switched the under 13 fixture versus Long Crendon from Old Berkeley to Dinton. There are no changes to the under 10s fixture at Beaconsfield as far as we can tell!
The under 13s have beaten Great Kingshill by 7 wickets in the semi final of the Bucks Cup, to become the first Dinton junior side to reach a Bucks Cup final. Congratulations to them all.The final will be away to High Wycombe at 6pm on Wednesday June 30. It would great to bring along a good crowd to cheer on the Dinton lads - no World Cup matches that evening!
Karen is looking to reschedule the fixture, but this will probably have to be at Bledlow Village.
The first national round is on Sunday July 4, when Dinton will host the winners of the Essex & Suffolk region, Bentley CC. Congratulations to Ash & the team.
The 2nds are 26 points clear of Cherwell div 3 after a 2-wicket win at Aston Rowant, Shaun and Mark getting 4w each. The 3rds stay 12 points clear in div 8, beating Leighton Buzzard by 6 wickets. Pat took 5-33. The juniors got in on the act on Sunday, the under 13s in particular having a good win home to Cublington in the Bucks Cup quarter final. Semi away to Great Kingshill. Remember, Village Cup Bucks final on Sunday, 1pm start.
