3pm and it's bucketing down in Aylesbury, with thunder and lightning for good measure. However, the awards will go ahead this evening, even if we all have to cram into the pavilion to keep out of the rain. There will be no practice on the outfield or in the nets before or after the proceedings. The presentations will start at 6:30pm, and should finish by 7:15pm. We're changing things a little this year. Come along and hear the team managers sum up their seasons and give out their own awards, as well as seeing the usual cups and plaques awarded for the top performances and efforts. We'll see you there!
Rodney Browne's 7 for 15 was the highlight for Dinton in Bourton Vale's 126 all out. Mike Sutliff hit 45 in Dinton's 6-wicket win. Three matches to go (Bledlow Ridge, Abingdon Vale, Leighton Buzzard), and a point ahead of Milton Keynes Park. Come on!
10:30am Thursday: Morning all, and welcome to another dodgy Thursday weatherwise. Please assume that practice will be ON until or unless informed otherwise here. It's unlikely we will be able to have someone at the ground today for 5pm to make the usual go/no-go decision, so we will have to trust the BBC weather forecast / our instincts by mid-afternoon.No barbecue this evening because of the weather uncertainty, and please remember to bring all your outstanding sponsorship money.
We'll provide a full review of the week shortly, but you can view some great images of the week here and order prints to preserve those happy memories.
Race Night THIS EVENING at the club from 8pm - don't forget! If you have already 'bought' a horse then come along and cheer it home, or come along anyway for a good evening out and to bet on the Tote for each race.Curry and Chilli available, with many thanks to Dorcia for the catering! We'll see you there!
Many thanks to all those who took part in the sponsored walk on Thursday July 24. Just for once on a Thursday this summer the sun shone, and the walk was enjoyed by many.If you did the walk and have not yet given us your sponsorship money then please do so asap, either to Ted Biggs or to any committee member or junior coach. We'll let you know how much you have raised in total as soon as we know ourselves.
Academy Week starts on Monday July 28, with five full days of fun planned for all participants. If you have already signed up for the week then we shall see you from 9:30am at the club for registration and to collect your Academy shirt. A Dinton team containing four juniors had to chase 246 off their 45 overs, but Rob had Richard Cripps (79 not out) for company in a partnership of 186 to win by seven wickets with six overs to spare.
