First up, the Cherwell League have a new website for 2007. It's a big step-up from what we had before and will finally show us the league tables online. The npower Village Cup page is on Cricinfo. For the juniors, we have the Bucks League website and, for the first time this year, the Aylesbury District League website.
It's a Thursday - it never rains on Thursday, surely? Practice and the sponsored walk are both still ON as at 5:10pm, but let's hope this pesky rain stops soon...
There's a sponsored walk at the ground this Thursday April 26, from 6:30pm, to raise funds for the club. Every little helps - download the sponsorship form now, start gathering names, and we'll see you on Thursday!
Smoking in enclosed public places in England becomes illegal from July 1st. At Dinton CC we're pre-empting the legislation, and the pavilion (including both changing rooms) and the scorebox will be smoke-free from the start of the season. Thanks for everyone's cooperation.
Richard Young from Chiltern Sports will be at the ground from 6:30pm, taking orders for Dinton shirts & caps as well as showing off an array of shiny new bats... There will inevitably be some disruption this first week, as we get the remaining joining administration out of the way. If you have not already sent us your membership forms, please complete them and bring them with you on the night. Existing members only have until May 3 to guarantee their place for 2007.
It's 'all hands on deck' this Saturday, March 31. An army of volunteers will be sprucing up the ground, equipment and the clubhouse ready for the new season, as part of the ECB's Cricketforce initiative. We have a long list of jobs to get done, and it's definitely the case that more hands will make light work. Contact Johnny Morgan before Saturday to ask what you can do, or simply turn up on the day ready to be handed a paintbrush/shovel/screwdriver/trowel! The fun starts from 8am on Saturday.
It's good news. We've received an email from a close relative of Tim, telling us that Tim has been found in Scotland. He's currently having treatment there, and is unlikely to be back down south for a while.Tim's family wish us to pass on their thanks for everyone's support whilst Tim was missing. All at the club continue to wish Tim and his family our very best for the future.
The full senior and junior fixture lists are now online, showing pre-season friendlies, the complete Cherwell League schedule, the full Sunday 1st & 2nd team schedule and the full junior schedule. (Well, apart from a solitary U17 fixture - come on Aston Clinton, we need to hear from you!)
