Thanks everyone for bearing with us on Thursday April 29, on what was a difficult evening for coaching. No fewer than seven of our regular coaches were forced absentees. Whilst we know we need to increase the numbers of our coaching 'staff', that day was exceptional and - hopefully - a one-off.So a huge thank-you to the remaining coaches and parent helpers who stepped into the breach. Judging by the hordes of smiling young faces in yesterday's gloom, you all did a fantastic job. The very best way of avoiding this situation in future is to have more coaching volunteers. So please take a minute to read what Kelvin has to say, and ask yourself if you'd like to join in the fun.
It looks to be clearing up, and from what we can tell from the BBC weather map the rain should be heading away from us. Famous last words of course, but the decision is that training in ON this evening. Please, please take extra care underfoot. We will make a judgement call at the time on whether the nets are safe to use, and our decision at that time will be final.
We hope everyone's looking forward to the first junior practice of the season. We kick off with ages up to under 11 from 5:45pm, then the girls and older age groups from 7:00pm. New members: if you have not been to a practice session and are wondering what to bring, the answer is 'just yourselves'. Wear trainers and something comfortable to run around in. We'll have the bar, barbecue and tuck shop open for business. Julie and Anne will accept membership forms and handle any queries. Meanwhile, dear parents, Karen will be mingling among you asking for YOUR help. We want to fill up rotas for bar and barbecue duties throughout the season, and there are plenty more jobs for which you can also volunteer. If you want to see how volunteering can make a real difference, step inside and take a look at the new kitchen. Please park prettily around the outside of the outfield, and use common sense and extra care at 'switchover time' between the two sessions. Enjoy the evening!

On the Easter weekend, April 3 & 4, some hardy cricketers from the club plan to cycle from Dinton CC, Wilts to Dinton CC, Bucks, a distance of 90 miles. The aim is to raise money for club funds, and to give the season a really good kick-start. Look out for a feature on the club in the Bucks Herald this coming Wednesday. If you're interested in joining in then just contact Spice. We're also keen to have a few juniors' parents on board - Mick will fill in the details for you.
